Rubber coated rollers were often used in operations involving machines with conveyors and such in the past. This was cumbersome for a few reasons. One, the rubber tended to wear down quickly and thus had to be replaced more often. Rubber rollers are also not good for high stress situations that require a tough tolerance. But, now, urethane rollers have replaced the rubber rollers. The urethane coating is an ideal fit for conveyors, load wheels, drive and idler pulleys and any other roller types that are used in high pressure jobs. Contact us to discuss how urethane rollers can help your operation's bottom line.
Similar to spherical media, grinding rods are used for size reduction of materials in a rotating drum. Most grinding rods are large and designed to break and pass through the mill once they are too worn down.
Norstone will give you guidance for all of your processing ceramics equipment needs-- from the machines to the high speed blades. We specialize in particulate processing materials, and we can help you determine which grinding media and mill is the efficient choice overall.
Ceramics are widely used and applied for a number of reasons. Compared to polymers, ceramics are heavier but also lighter than metals. Ceramics can be used as both insulators and conductors since their electrical and thermal conductivities have a broad range. The high thermal tolerance of ceramics is a benefit, but also a consideration when processing ceramics. Ceramic products are loaded in compression (as opposed to bending or tension) for the element to be considerably stronger. Also, ceramic bonding is very rigid and doesn't slip, but this also makes the ceramic a bad material candidate for absorbing stress.
Ceramics come in three basic categories: Traditional, New, and Glasses.
